| Title: | HOOF PATHOLOGIES IN DAIRY COWS IN KOSOVO |

| Abstract: | There are many favoring and predisposing factors in initiating and developing pathologies in cattle hoofs, leading to many different hoof diseases. This study was focused in 50 dairy farms in Kosovo, with 10 and more cows on farm. Different pathologies are treated and frequency of these pathologies and pathology development was analyzed. In total 1000 cows were treated and for studying purpose they are divided in two groups of treatments. In the first group cattle was from 0-4 years old, and second group cattle older than 4 years. Hoof treatments were in 57 in first group and 43% in second group of cattle. The result from this study has shown that 21% of animals had a serious problem with hoof diseases. Among these animal, 23.4% of cases shown pododermatitis, 19.6% interdigital dermatitis, 13.4% digital dermatitis, 17% interdigital flegmona and the 26.4% were different malformation. The 57% of the cases were in rear legs. |
| Abstrakti: | Shkaqet dhe faktorët favorizues për lindjen dhe zhvillimin e patologjive të thundrave dhe sëmundjeve të ndryshme janë të shumta. Studimi ynë u përqendrua në 50 ferma në Kosovë me numër mbi 10 krerë. Janë trajtuar patologji të ndryshme si dhe janë studiuar dhe analizuar të dhëna për frekuencën e patologjive dhe shformimeve të tyre në gjedh. Gjithsej 1000 krerë janë trajtuar dhe janë ndarë në dy klasa. Klasa parë nga 0-4 vjeç, dhe klasa dytë mbi 4 vjeç. 57 % e rasteve i takonin klasës së parë, ndërsa 43 % klasës së dytë. Nga ky hulumtim doli se rreth 21 % e kafshëve kanë probleme serioze me thundrat. Prej tyre 23.4 % të rasteve ishin patologji me pododermatit, 19.6 % me dermatit interdigital, 13,4 % me dermatit digital, dhe flegmona interdigitale ne masën 17 %, kurse 26.4 % e rasteve tjera kishin te bënin me shformimet të ndryshme. 57% e rasteve të paraqitura ishin në gjymtyrët e pasme. |
