Title: THE PRODUCTION OF PETROLEUM COKE IN THE COUNTRY AND THE ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT OF ITS USE IN ALBANIA

Abstract: Abstract The oil coke, is an important byproduct of secondary processing of the heavy residues from oil. It has been applied in many different areas of domestic economy and industry, as source of energy. The domestic production of coke is based on the Albanian crude oils, a high sulfur content product, hence it contain high amounts of sulfur that reaches approx. 8.5%. The paper gives not only an overview of the production and the area of economy where oil coke is used, but also is elaborated in details the environmental impact through the SO2 and CO2 emissions. Driven from the importance of that product for our country, are given theoretical and analytical consideration on the quality of the product compared with European Standards, as well as recommendations and alternatives for the amelioration of environmental effects from coke burning. The paper gives recommendations related to the revision of actual national standards.

Abstrakti: Koksi i naftës është një nënprodukt i rëndësishëm i përpunimit sekondar të mbetjeve të rënda të naftës. Ai ka gjetur përdorim të gjerë si burim energjie në fusha të ndryshme të ekonomisë. Koksi i prodhuar në vend, ka orgjinë tërësisht naftën shqiptare, e cila është naftë me përmbajtje të lartë squfuri, si rrjedhim, ai përmban një përqindje të konsiderueshme të squfurit total, e cila luhatet deri në 8,5 % në masë. Në këtë punim kemi pasqyruar, jo vetëm prodhimin dhe fushat e përdorimit të koksit të naftës, por kemi vlerësuar saktësisht ndikimin mjedisor të produkteve të djegies së koksit që shkaktohen nga emetimi i SO2 dhe CO2 në mjedis. Në material jepen gjithashtu konsiderata teorike dhe analitike mbi cilësinë e koksit të naftës krahasuar me Standardet Evropiane, si dhe rekomandime dhe alternativa për zbutjen e efektit mjedisorë të produkteve të djegies së tij dhe përmirësimin e standardeve shtetërore ekzistuese shqiptare.
