| Abstract: | Literary translation is probably the most well-known and widely debated form of translation, which constitutes almost 60% of the literary publication in Albania. In comparison to other kinds of translators, literary translators tend to uncover what lies under the surface which often requires going beyond the boundaries of the language in order to produce an equivalent text in the target culture. This requires expert and competent translators. This paper looks at the translation techniques used in the translation of complex sentences in the novel The Genius written by the American writer Theodore Dreiser. Furthermore, an attempt has been made to introduce some suggestions for a better translation. The paper will be concluded with the idea that literary translators have to adopt sentences and their clauses from the source language to make reference to the original context and color of the test, thus leading to more accurate and communicative translations. |
| Abstrakti: | Perkthimi letrar eshte ndoshta forma me e njohur dhe me e debatuar e perkthimit, i cili perben gati 60% te publikimeve letrare ne Shqiperi. Ndryshe nga perkthyesit teknike, perkthyesit letrare synone drejt zbulimit te mendimit qe qendron nen siperfaqe, duke prodhuar ne kete menyre nje tekst te barazvlershem me origjinalin brenda kultures se gjuhes se perkthimit. Kjo kerkon pa dyshim perkthyes eksperte dhe kompetente. Ky punim synon te trajtoje teknikat e perkthimit te perdorura ne perkthimin e fjalive te perbera ne romanin Gjeniu te shkrimtarit amerikan Teodor Drajzer. Per me teper, nje perpjekje eshte bere per te dhene disa sugjerime ne lidhje me nje perkthim me te mire ne disa pjese te tij. Ky punim perfundon me mendimin se perkthyesit letrar duhet te pershtasin fjalite ne gjuhen burim me qellim qe te ruajne kontekstin origjinal dhe ngjyrat e tesktit, duke cuar drejt perkthimeve me te sakta dhe me komunikative. |
